2nd CHANCE INDIANA:
More than 5000 Reentrant Interactions in First Five Months of 2026! (And lots more!)
It’s critical for reentrants to access support as they reenter society after incarceration. 2nd Chance Indiana focuses on job acquisition which provides the funds needed for housing, food and other essentials, and each contact with our services are tracked so that we can better served our clients. Our total number of interactions with reentrants just from January through May reached an all-time high of 5,009.
Also, 2nd Chance Indiana is expanding access to economic opportunity with the launch of a new 7-passenger vanpool in Clark County, Indiana in partnership with THRIVE Recovery.
Marking another important step in supporting employment for reentrants, these vanpools are being used across the state, with existing routes in Noble, DeKalb, Kosciusko, Tipton, and Howard Counties. The Clark County expansion brings reliable transportation to southern Indiana—reaching a rural transportation desert where access to work is limited.
